… ..born in Padua in 1508 by his father Peter, said “the Gondola”, a miller and his mother Marta said the Zota (“the lame”). In 1523, the family moved to Vicenza, where Andrea, after making the stonemason in Padua,
working in the workshop of builder Giovanni di Giacomo from Porlezza and the sculptor Girolamo Pittoni. Between 1535 and 1538 Andrea meets Count Giangiorgio Vicenza Trissino while working in the yard of his suburban villa Cricoli.
ย Giangiorgio Trissino, poet and humanist, takes him under his protection giving him the nickname of Palladio, guides him through his cultural education and the study of classical culture. ย In these years Palladio made his first significant works such as the villa of Gerolamo Godi in Lugo di Vicenza.
